Allow me to introduce myself. I was born in San Diego, CA and grew
up in a farming community near Great Falls, MT. I came to Lewiston,
ID in l944 and graduated from high school in 1947. I have been in the
automotive repair business ever since. In 1956 I bought into a partnership
and eventually owned it outright. I passed ownership onto a son. I now
do the road work on logging and industrial air conditioning. I
joined Lewiston Lions in 1974, where I have been president several times
and Zone Chairman of F-4 four times. I also head the major activities
of my club.
My desire is to bring the Lions Club into the new age. At the schools
and convention in Chicago we were trained to bring the 'Challenge to
Change' ideas and methods to the clubs. Lions International wants to
change the way we look at Lionism. We want to bring new ideas on induction,
getting to know how the Lions organization works, more cross section
as far as age groups, making meetings more enjoyable and informative.
Making Lions more fun and serving our communities is what we are here
for as Lions.
My slogan for the year is 'Together We Can'. We can do
much when we work together.
Looking forward to working with you this coming year,
DG Jim Luper
